"Mafia III" launches with a 30 frames per second lock on all platforms for now, but a fix a currently underway. The upcoming patch will give players the option to play the game at higher frame rates.
According to the official website of the video game, 2K Games have revealed that the 30 FPS lock was the result of the development team try hard to make it perform consistently on all platforms. Currently they are developing a new patch for the PC. They also assure that the update will be arriving very soon.
The development team welcomes any feedback from the fans right now. They would like to hear from them, so that they will know what kind of performance adjustment options they can create. According to the official website of Steam, the fans are giving mixed feedbacks due to the sluggish performance and the 30 FPS lock.
The game company is considering a number of additional post-launch improvements on the PC only. These improvements will give the players more control over how they can customize their experience in the game. These customizations will also suit their PC system's performance.
On a new update from the development team, they currently have a patch running at their studio. It includes options like 30, 60, and unlimited FPS in the video menu. To make sure everything is working, they will do more tests for now.
If the patch will go well, the developers will release the update this weekend. For now, they will be updating the PC community on the status of the patch. They also thank the critics and fans who gave different feedbacks to them to create a suitable patch for "Mafia III."
For the fans that have not purchased the game yet, they will have to know the minimum requirements first. Their PC system should at least have a Windows 7 64-bit for the operating system. The processor should be at least Intel I5-2500K or AMD FX-8120.
"Mafia III" at least requires memory of 6 GB RAM, and a graphics card that has 2 GB of video memory. The graphics card should at least be Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD7870. They should also prepare 50 GB hard drive space.
