Samsung continues to live with the debacle brought up by the exploding Galaxy Note 7 though all is no lost for the Korean giant. They do have the Samsung Galaxy S7 now as their alternative flagship though the stakes may have just gotten higher for its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Samsung will imminently be losing billions in revenue as a result of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fall and the alternative course of action seen is to ramp up the other devices standing. Though the Korean company has a lot to offer, the focus will undoubtedly on the Samsung Galaxy S8 which could be out as early as February 2017.
The state of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is still unknown though its firmware development could be a start, Sam Mobile reported. The Galaxy S8 ROM is reportedly in the developmental stages, a build being made for regions that include China, France, Germany, Italy, Korean, Poland, and the United States.
Hearing about firmware development for the Samsung Galaxy S8 may hardly get anyone excited though a similar program kicked off for the Samsung Galaxy S7 last year. Regardless, this is not a clear indication that Samsung will be rushing the release of the Galaxy S8, BGR reported.
Samsung is unlikely to rush things despite the alarms raised by the Galaxy Note 7. It would still be best to make sure that their next flagship is developed and tested extensively to avoid any unfortunate incidents like exploding phones.
Samsung’s Unpacked Event is rumored to be happening on Feb. 26, 2017 once again, one day before the annual Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona. With time to spare, there is no official word yet on what the Galaxy S8 could possibly bring.
The word out is that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come out with its usual two variants. That includes a 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch model where the latter will obviously be the Edge or phablet-type. The Galaxy S7 successor will reportedly come with 4K display for VR capability, a dual-lens camera, a Viv virtual assistant and possibly 10nm processors.
