Azealia Banks claimed that she and Ryan Gosling's "The Nice Guys" co-star Russell Crowe had an altercation at a Beverly Hills hotel on Oct. 16, Sunday. The 25-year-old rapper has filed a battery report against the "Gladiator" actor, demanding an apology.
Banks filed a complaint with the Beverly Hills Police Department accusing Crowe, 52, of assaulting her during a dinner party held in his hotel suite on Oct. 15, Saturday. In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, the rapper gave an account of what allegedly transpired between her and the Oscar-winning actor the night before.
"To recap my night, I went to a [party] at Russell crowes suite, at which he called me a n----r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me," E! News quoted Banks as saying in the post. "Last night was one of the hardest nights of sleep I've had in a long time."
However, several eyewitnesses claim it was the rapper who started it all. Their side of the story revealed that Banks, who was Crowe's friend and rapper RZA's plus one, started laughing at Crowe's music and called him an another guest "boring, white men," TMZ quoted the source as saying.
After another woman rushed to Crowe's defense, Banks threatened to stab the guests with her broken glass and watch their blood squirt everywhere like a scene from a Quentin Tarantino movie before adding a few racial slurs. However, it was not until Banks reached for her glass and cocked it back that Crowe locked her in a "bear hug" before security stepping in and escorted her out of the property.
Raymani, a spokesman for the "212" hitmaker, said that Banks is still shaken by the events that unfolded over the weekend and is not yet ready to speak about the incident and will give her account of what happened and what she plans to do next over the next couple of days. He also noted that Banks is disgusted by the fictitious reports doing the rounds and is disappointed by the behavior of people she once had a high regard for.
