Most of videos that become viral in China features couples in a sex tape or naked women. However, on Oct. 16, Apex TV posted on YouTube a 5-minute, 10-second video showing what looks like a giant mysterious flying creature.
RT reported that from what it looks like, the flying creature is like a mythical beast or a dragon hovering over an unidentified mountain range in the border of China and Laos. Netizens are arguing if the video clip is real or the result of digital manipulation.
Among the discussions is if the winged creature is a dragon or a flying dinosaur. The video, which has gone viral with more than 2 million hits in one week, asked viewers if the creature is a dragon or pterodactyl, flying reptiles believed to have become extinct 66 million years ago.
Among those who believe the video is fake is Li Zeng who argued, “It’s a cell phone device camera, so it’s pan focused and can’t focus on particular object. S6efenko thought it was a drone based on her past readings that scientists and engineers combined their knowledge and discovered the natural movement and aerodynamics of a bird which they could have replicated on a machine.
Philip L. also believes it is fake because the dragon looks too sharp in resolution in comparison to the blurry and pixelated surrounding mountains. He said it is a good CGI animation which reminds him “of those bullshit alien videos.”
Rishab Sen agrees with Philip because the depth of field in both layers is different, making him conclude it is a fake. Mt2oo8 added the frames to the background do not even match up. He said the uploader was aware it is fake but posted it because the video would get good views.
