The Google Pixel XL was released on October 20 this year and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was released in March this year.

Let's take a look at the specifications of Google Pixel XL and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The two smartphones sport premium design and materials, with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge being lighter and smaller, and also being somewhat better at water resistance.

The Pixel XL smartphone is IP53 water resistant and the Samsung device is IP68 water resistant.

The search giant Google placed the fingerprint sensor on the back of Pixel XL, whereas the electronics giant Samsung embedded the fingerprint sensor into the main button on the front of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a larger aperture and OIS and the Google Pixel XL has laser detection autofocus as well as phase detection autofocus, and depends on electronic image stabilization.

Both Pixel XL and Galaxy S7 Edge sport 12-megapixel main cameras and have 4 GB of RAM, The Verge reported. The Google device offers more internal storage. The Galaxy S7 Edge has a bigger power source and the Pixel XL makes use of USB Type-C.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which offers wireless charging, is powered by an Exynos 8890 SoC or a Snapdragon 820. The Pixel XL, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 821, according to a report from Digital Trends.

The Google Pixel XL and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge are similar in resolution and screen size. Both devices have AMOLED displays that are protected through Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge features a curved screen.

The Google smartphone comes with Android 7.1 N and software features that are reserved for made-by Google mobile phones.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, on the other hand, comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The entry price of the Pixel XL is $881 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge price begins at $783.

The search giant offers two color options for its smartphone, very silver and quite black. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes in  gold, silver and pink gold.
