Beloved characters of the ABC series "Once Upon a Time" will soon find themselves caught in a heartbreaking situation that may result to the end of a romance. Cast member Colin O'Donoghue hinted of Emma and Hook's relationship struggles once details of Hook's deception is revealed.
"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 episode 5 titled "Street Rats" gave viewers a look at how dangerous it is to assume the role of a Savior. Agrabah's Savior Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz) decided to magically cut his ties from the said hero role with a pair of special scissors. After handing the shears to Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Aladdin gave the Storybrooke Savior a choice to continue with her dangerous role or follow his example.
Despite Emma's visions about her death in an upcoming battle, she decided to take the heroic path of being a Savior and entrusted the shears to Hook (O'Donoghue). However, he opted to hide the scissors after telling Emma that he threw them in the sea.
Hook's deception will haunt the said character, according to O'Donoghue. In an interview with TVLine, the actor stated that Hook will feel conflicted about his decision to keep the magical shears.
Emma may consider Hook's deception as a form of betrayal even if his reason for doing so was to save her life. O'Donoghue added, "That's his whole reason for keeping them. He sees this as a way that he can protect her and save her from dying."
It is still unclear if Hook's secret will drive a wedge between the said characters and Emma. The two lovebirds have had to endure several setbacks in their relationship but the said situation may push them apart.
In other news, the upcoming episode 6 of the ABC series will feature a look at Hook's past and his time abroad the Nautilus. Titled "Dark Waters," Captain Nemo (Faran Tahir) will have Hook abducted and taken deep underwater to fulfill a mysterious quest, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoiler TV.
In Storybrooke, Emma will try to persuade Aladdin to work with Jasmine (Karen David) so they could save Agrabah together. Meanwhile, Regina (Lara Parrilla), Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) and David (Josh Dallas) will go on a rescue mission to save Archie (Raphael Sbarge).
