Contrary to reports about "Game of Thrones" prequel being available on Netflix, it turns out that fans will not be seeing them anytime soon in the widely popular video streaming site. With HBO, maker of the "Game of Thrones" TV series, being a direct competitor of Netflix, it is highly unlikely for Netflix to go down on its knees to buy the show for online streaming, or for HBO to even consider selling it.

Despite not being granted online streaming rights, Netflix is distributing "Game of Thrones" through DVD/Blu-Ray for $7.99. However, the DVDs are only until Season 4. To be able to watch brand new episodes, viewers need to subscribe to HBO Go or HBO Now.

Meanwhile, from its usual April launching, "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is now postponed until Summer of next year because the production may take a longer time and may not be completed until February. "Winter is here. We're shooting in places where there are trees. We have to wait until the leaves fall off" to shoot scenes as winter, he said. That means production will not finish until February, for a season that will have seven episodes, not the usual 10," Devid Benioff, "Game of Thrones" executive producer told USA Today.

While Season 7 is already in production, the "Winds of Winter" book has not been published. "You don't ever have a day when you sit down there and it's like constipation - you write a sentence and you hate the sentence and you check your email and you wonder if you had any talent after all and maybe you should have been a plumber Don't you have days like that?", author George R.R. Martin asked in a casual interview with Stephen King. Martin admits to being a slow writer, Independent reported.

The book was initially scheduled to be published before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, but the author failed to meet the deadline. Fans are still hopeful about "The Winds of Winter" coming out in the bookstores before the premiere of Season 7, but until then, the waiting game will continue.
