Chelsea has successfully stringed four straight wins after going on a three-game winless skid to climb back to the top five in the overall standings. The team is currently in the fourth spot of the league table, only a point below the top three of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

The Blues are coming off a 2-0 blanking of middling squad Southampton on the road at the St. Mary's Stadium last Sunday, as per Daily Mail Online.

Belgian winger Eden Hazard started the scoring early in the sixth minute with a magnificent zigzagging dribble past several Southampton defenders before taking the shot from a tight angle. The ball went low past Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who could not do anything to stop the shot.

The Saints put up a fight from then on as they fended off the rest of the attacks of head coach Antonio Conte's boys.

However, Spanish striker Diego Costa doubled Chelsea's lead five minutes after the restart with a stunning 25-yard blast, curling into the top right corner of Forster's net, as he was momentarily given room by his defenders.

Meanwhile, Everton also pulled off a similar 2-0 win over West Ham United at the Goodison Park last Sunday, The Guardian reported.

After a goalless first half of action, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku broke the deadlock in the 50th minute with a close-range header off a rebound play with the assist coming from Yannick Bolasie.

English midfielder Ross Barkley doubled the lead in the 76th minute with a half volley off a give-and-go play with Lukaku.

The win snapped the Toffees' four-game winless skid as settle at the sixth spot of the current league table.
