Ronda Rousey is ready for her comeback fight at UFC 207 against Amanda Nunes this December but she revealed that this is one of her final fights. The shocking announcement has sparked several rumors about Rousey becoming a WWE superstar and making her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 33 next year.
In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, "Rowdy" was asked about her future and she answered by saying that UFC 207 is one of the last fights of her great career. She is coming off a KO loss back in 2015 against Holly Holm but she has fully recovered and ready to fight again.
"Not that long. I'm wrapping it up. This is definitely one of my last fights. Everyone better watch the show. It isn't going to last forever," Rousey said.
It was a shocking announcement but many people expected her career to be short since she will do movies in the future. Even UFC President Dana White has confirmed that his most prized fighter will be ending her career soon and focus on her Hollywood career.
However, many wrestling fans are wondering if Rousey will be available for a match at WrestleMania 33 next year. It was widely speculated earlier this year that the 29-year-old MMA fighter will team up with The Rock and face Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 32.
The match did not happen since Rousey was filming a movie in Indonesia and the UFC did not give her permission. Nevertheless, the news of the former UFC women's bantamweight champ close to ending her career has a lot of WWE fans excited.
Rousey has revealed in many interviews that she is a big fan of wrestling and she would like to be part of it someday. It should be noted that her "Rowdy" nickname was borrowed from late, great wrestling legend, Roddy Piper.
McMahon teased that the WWE will be going after Rousey once her MMA career is over. She told TMZ.com in an ambush interview that she hopes that "Rowdy" will sign with their company so that she can get her revenge in a match.
"I certainly hope so. I've got to get her back after she put me in that armbar at WrestleMania. I'm certainly going to try to get her. Let's leave it at that," McMahon said.
One of the possible scenarios at this year WrestleMania 33 is the mixed tag team match but these are just pure speculations at the moment. But if ever Rousey becomes a WWE superstar, she will be the female equivalent of Brock Lesnar and dominate the women's division.
