Pangu, a Chinese hacker group, has been left with little chances to catch up and even release an iOS 10 jailbreak tool. The tech giant, Apple, is in the process of rolling out the first beta for iOS 10.2 a move that may frustrate the efforts of the group.
Many of the iOS jailbreak users who had updated their Apple phones to iOS 10 are now left in a dilemma of when exactly the hacker teams will release a jailbreak of the new operating system. iOS 10 full version was released back in September 2016, but until now, none of the jailbreak teams has been able to release its jailbreak tool.
According to Pangu8, the hacker group has managed to release iOS 9.3 jailbreak tools and fans hoped that they would release the iOS 10 jailbreak sometime soon. The jailbreak team is yet to provide an update on the project; however, it is rumored that the iOS 10 crack will most likely be released by Pangu in the next few weeks. The teams' last update about the most anticipated tool was back in July at the Mobile Security Conference.
Pangu was rumored to release the iOS 10 jailbreak after the iOS 10.1 rolls out but this has not been the case for it is now days since the update firmware rolled out. It seems the Pangu maybe currently waiting for the right time to release the iOS 10 tool as the hacking group has already been able to jailbreak the iOS operating systems.
The right moment for Pangu to release the iOS 10 jailbreak could be already here, as Apple has launched the iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1. The Cupertino-based company has been updating its software on top of added security on each update and this may be slowing down the jailbreaking teams. Previous updates among them, the iOS 10.0.1, iOS 10.0.2 and iOS 10.0.3 messed a bit the hackers and slowed down the jailbreaking success.
This year, Apple decided to seek the assistance of its users in finding the vulnerable areas of its software releases hoping to patch them up instead of being exploited. The move shows that the tech giant is serious in ending jailbreaking and its improved disposition may be the reason Pangu could be having trouble with delivering on a working iOS 10 jailbreak.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the latest iOS 10.1.1 update released by Apple recently will not interfere with the current status of the ongoing iOS 10 jailbreak development. The update has only proivided some fixes to the Apple Health app that was not functioning properly after the iOS 10.1 was released, Forbes reported.
Apple is expected to release the iOS 10.2 soon as the first of the four beta versions has just been available to users signed up on the Apple Beta Software Program.
