A new craze is sweeping high schools across the U.S. The Mannequin Challenge involves students standing still to create compelling videos of a moment frozen in time.

According to Heatstreet, most of those videos are set to music with Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” as their favorite background music. The week-old viral challenge has been getting a lot of hits.

For instance, the Mannequin Challenge that Deshaun Diggs, who posted a Twitter video in late Nov. 3, has already gone viral with more than 67,000 retweets.

Vibe noted that the videos created are pretty hilarious, running from 20 seconds to more than one minute. But it is not only students who are creating Mannequin Challenge videos. Even Sports news anchors from SEC Network also has one.

When Rae Sremmurd, the rap duo, learned about the role their single has in the latest viral craze, they asked a crowd at their show in Denver on Friday to take part in the time-freezing frenzy. Entire schools are participating in the Mannequin Challenge.

According to XXLMag, one of the first Mannequin Challenges was posted on the Twitter of Swae Lee which took place at the rap pair’s Denver show. The clip begins with everyone frozen on stage when “Black Beatles” starts to play. After the camera pans to the crowd, everyone in the audience do their best mannequin impression. The Swae Lee, Slim Jxmni and the rest of the crew move, sending the audience to a frenzy.

“Black Beatles” is the best track on Rae Sremmurd’s latest album titled “SremmLife 2.” Mike WiLL Made-It, the album’s producer, has a cameo appearance and also Gucci Mane who delivers a guest verse. The duo promoted their album which debuted at no. 7 on the Billboard Album 200 chart in August. Kodak Black, Lil Jon and Juicy J had guest features in the 14-track album.
