Overwatch is a multiplayer first-person shooter game developed by Blizzard Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.

New details for "Overwatch" will feature three new characters coming to the roster, a new "Play of the Game" and single character limit on "Quick Play".

With the release Sombra in "Overwatch's" roster this year, gamers are looking forward to Blizzard Entertainment announcing new heroes next year. Three characters have been heavily rumored to join "Overwatch" and these are Liao, Doomfist and Athena, PCGamesN reported.

Athena is the official announcer in "Overwatch" and has been featured in the cinematic short "Recall" featuring Winston and Reaper. However, numerous theories and speculations hint that Athena could be a playable character in "Overwatch". Athena will be sporting an Omnic body based from an old photo of the Overwatch team right before the organization disbanded. Her Omnic body will have a female shape with a single eye and a logo of her name on her head. Athena in the game will likely be a support character.

Liao in the game is a founding member of the Overwatch team along with along with Jack Morrison/Soldier:76, Gabriel Reyes/Reaper, Ana Amari, Torbjorn and Reinhardt. Several fan speculations revealed that Liao may have a connection with the team's climatologist and current playable character Mei-Ling Zhou.

Lastly, Doomfist is also hinted to join "Overwatch" and was first mentioned in the first animated short of the game. According to former "Overwatch" story teller Chris Metzen, Doomfist is a generational character all using the same super-powered gauntlets for both heroics and villainy. Three characters who have used Doomfist have been featured in "Overwatch", with two characters being named Savior and Scourge, while the other is called the Successor, in this case the next person to adopt the mantle of Doomfist and possibly a future DLC character soon.

In other news. Blizzard Entertainment announced new game features in "Overwatch" as lead character designer Geoff Goldman told Kotaku that "Play of the Game 2.0" could happen soon.

Goldman teased that there will be a lot of camera works for "Play of the Game" and even a co-op version of it highlighting the combos gamers use in each character. Goodman added that "Play of the Game 2.0" will be in the books and it is also a matter prioritizing as the when will the work on it.

Game director Jeff Kaplan announced during Blizzcon 2016 that there could be a single character limit for "Overwatch's" quick play mode.

While most gamers do not agree with the idea since "Quick Play" in "Overwatch" is a means for casual gameplay as opposed to the skill based "Competitive Mode", Blizzard was aware of the reaction and instead reveal new game modes.

The new "Arcade Mode" will have "Mystery Duel", a one vs one best-of-five duel between a player and their opponent in which a hero is randomly selected for both. "Elimination" is a three vs three best-of-five brawl where a single-hero limit and permadeath applies, meaning that a Mercy will be invaluable for this mode.

"Mystery Heroes" is a six vs six brawl in which the heroes are randomly selected for all players. "No Limits" is essentially "Quick Play" and players can choose which hero they want and how many they want. Lastly,"All Brawls" will function “playlist” for all the older and upcoming new weekly Brawls.

"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
