Battlefield 1 Is DICE’s Biggest Launch In History

Game studio DICE proudly announces its first-person shooter game "Battlefield 1" and is the company's biggest launch in its 22-year history based on Daily Active Users.

The statistics from the "Battlefield 1" infographic boasted that the game has garnered 59 million hours of gameplay from players less than three weeks after its launch, according to IGN, and nine million hours were reported to have been spent by players doing the new Operations mode. The infographic also proclaimed that the most used melee weapon for players to execute their kills is the scout knife, while the most popular operation was Conquer Hell mode. According to the infographic, these results are sourced using in-game telemetry during the course of Oct. 18 to 27.

The successful results delivered from the aforementioned infographic, however, have provided no confirmation regarding the total amount of sold "Battlefield 1" copies since its initial launch. Despite sharing spots against "Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and "Titanfall 2" with the time of release, research firm Cowen & Company predicted that "Battlefield 1" will gain sales ranging from 14 million copies to 16.5 million copies according to their interview last October in Gamespot.

In addition to the reported success of "Battlefield 1", Electronic Arts (EA) also mentioned that the new World War I based shooting game has gained a lot of plays during launch week compared to that of "Battlefield 4".  Aside from good play results since its release, "Battlefield 1" has also received well-met comments and positive reception from critics across the internet.

"Battlefield 1" is the 15th installment in the Battlefield series. The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Oct. 2. Battlefield 1 is the first World War I video game published by Electronic Arts since Wings of Glory in 1994. The game received positive reception from critics and is considered as a huge improvement over previous Battlefield installments.
