Calvin Harris thanked Taylor Swift for her contribution to his hit "This Is What You Came For." On Nov. 4, Friday, he tweeted the link of his track's success and expressed his gratefulness.
The 32-year-old disc jockey dated Swift for almost a year but soon after they broke up, he lashed out on the singer for taking credit for his work in a tweet storm. He accused his ex after her camp reported she penned the "This Is What You Came For" lyrics under the name of Nils Sjoberg. In one of his tweets, he expressed his disappointment for having her team make him look bad.
The two stars remained civil and Swift dated Tom Hiddleston which ended in September. It took Harris five months after his breakup with Swift to thank the "Blank Space" singer for his song.
The Scottish DJ stepped up and gave credit to Rihanna and his ex's talent, saying he was blessed for the collaboration. They may not have worked in the romance department, but could still recognize their professional talents. The former high-profile lovebirds were said to be texting each other though it is unlikely that they would be together again as a couple, according to Teen Vogue.
Meanwhile, Swift authored the new single "Best Man" of music group Little Big Town which created a buzz with its lyrics. Some lines of the song are: "I know I'm probably better off on my own than loving a man who didn't know what he had when he had it."
Speculations were triggered that the song refers to Harris. However, it was said to be written before Swift started dating the DJ, E! News reported. Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild reminded fans that lyrics can have various interpretations.
A lover or a family member can cause disappointment so everybody has a better man. Hence, anyone can relate to being disappointed with a loved one and still keeps on loving such person, Fairchild talked about "Best Man" in a Facebook Live press conference on Nov. 1.
