Two new handsets by Gionee, particularly S9 and S9T variants, have been recently certified by Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA, which should carry impressive dual-camera setup.

According to Phone Arena, the listing that surfaced online informs that the Gionee S9 will boast a 5.5-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution and will be covered with a 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone measures 154.2×76.4×7.4mm and weights 166.5 grams. The Gionee S9 will be successor to the S8, which was launched in early February this year.

From the leaked photos of the Gionee S9, the device's front panel will contain a selfie camera module, ambient light sensor and earpiece above the display. A physical home button will be present side by side with the app switcher and back buttons. The home button is also rumored to flaunt a fingerprint scanner for security function.

As per its internal chassis, BGR reported that the phone will be offered in two variants, with a Gionee S9T featuring a chipset with a faster clock speed. The regular Gionee S9 comes with an octa-core 1.8GHz CPU, which supports 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of expandable native storage. There will be a 128GB capacity microSD slot on board to put additional storage.

The Gionee S9T, on the other hand, features a similar design as the S9. The front has a 2.5D curved glass with home button at the bottom, power and volume buttons on the right edge. The device also sports a slightly faster 2GHz clock speed against the 1.8GHz clock speed on Gionee S9. It weighs 200 grams and will be offered in Black and Gold variants.

In its optics, the smartphones could feature a dual-camera setup on back with 13MP and 5MP sensors along with a LED flash. A 13MP camera in front handles selfies and video chats.

In addition, the smartphones offer Dual SIM capabilities and support connectivity options such as 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth, USB and WiFi under a 3,000 mAh battery capacity.

The listings also reveal a difference on the color options on both phones: gold for the S9 (although included images reveal silver color), and black for the S9T.

As of now, the Gionee manufacturers are silent with the phones' pricing and future availability, so fans of the smartphones should keep their eyes on the additional specs releases in the future.
