BTS member V cries during fan meeting, shares touching story

Kim Tae Hyung, better known by his stage name V, is a member of the South Korean Kpop idol group BTS.

The Kpop idol band BTS gave avid followers a treat with their exciting stage performances and fun activities during the group's Seoul fan meetings. However, a recent fan event featured an emotional moment as BTS singer V shared a touching story.

BTS singer V gave fans a peek into his personal life during the Kpop idol group's Seoul fan meeting held on Nov. 12, Saturday. Towards the end of the said event, he addressed fan speculations on why he looked unwell lately.

Other BTS members may have given a special shout-out to the crowd, but when it became V's turn he revealed that his paternal grandmother died recently. It was the reason why he looked sad since he was very close to his grandmother, Soompi quoted the singer as saying.

V also tearfully recounted how his recently deceased grandmother cared for him when she was still alive. Having raised the singer for 13 years, V considered his grandmother as one of his parents. He even came up with a plan to surprise his grandmother on TV but the BTS singer was unable to execute it since she already passed away.

The South Korean musician also made mention of his personal belief that his grandmother is still looking after him and sending blessings from heaven. With V's heartbreaking story, many fans were moved to tears as he opened up about his grandmother.

Meanwhile, BTS' latest album "Wings" has been breaking several records both in South Korea and in other countries. Recently, "Wings" was identified as Gaon Chart's highest selling album for the year so far, Korean news outlet OSEN reported.

With album sales of 681,924 units for the month of October, BTS' "Wings" nabbed the top spot on Gaon's Album Chart list. With only a month after its release, "Wing's" album sales is higher than the Kpop group's album "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever" that posted a sales level of 310,243 units in May.

BTS released "Wings" on Oct. 10, along with its title track "Blood, Sweat & Tears." Watch the music video for the said song below:
