Three new iPad Pros are believed to be coming next year, a follow-up to the previously released 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch variants. The rumored 10.9-inch variant is the mystery addition of the group though it looms as the best buy of the crop.
The 10.9-inch variant will likely be the baseline for tablet buyers, something that may not be too expensive and yet carry the necessary specs as demanded by customers. The kicker for this variant is that it will reportedly sport an edge-to-edge display and the potential removal of the home button, Mac Rumors reported. If true, this means that the Cupertino company may be doing away with the bezels currently used on existing iPad Pros.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is seen as the eventual successor of the iPad Min, Apple’s line which may no longer be getting a refresh at least for now. It will be the cheapest in the mix though some may opt to go a notch higher with the 10.9-inch if the price difference is not that far apart, Slash Gear reported.
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be the top of the mix, something that is believed to be sporting a True Tone display. Supporting the display resolution of the largest iPad Pro variant are four-channel ambient light sensors that should allow it to adapt easily to environments where it would be used.
Among the specs expected for the iPad Pro 2017 lineup include quad speakers, the retention of the 3.5 mm headphone jacks and a rumored 12 MP iSight camera backed by True Tone flash. OLED displays were mentioned as possible though the best bet is for Apple to make the big change in 2018.
Much of the changes seem to point to a new design for the next batch of iPad Pros which can hopefully keep Apple out of the red. The Cupertino company is believed to be slowing down a bit in the coming months as it tries to keep the fort up before another big device refresh with the redesigned iPhone 8 later in 2017.
