An Ohio man wanted for charges regarding burglary, abduction, assault and safe-cracking was arrested on March 3, Tuesday, after he commented on a Facebook post regarding the sheriff asking the public to help them look for him.
According to New York Daily News, the man was identified as Andrew Dale Marcum and his comment lead to him being arrested by the Butler County deputies. His photo was posted at the Facebook page of the sheriff as part of the weekly routine where they post wanted people.
According to the post, Marcum's last known residence was at Route 4 in Lemon Township but has committed crimes in Middletown and Hamilton. He was also involved in domestic violence and has outstanding bench warrants. He is only 21 years old, stand 6 feet and 3 inches and is white as per the post.
He reportedly saw the post and he wrote: "I ain't tripping half of them don't even know me". The comment has more than 4,000 likes as of today and he was the first person to post a comment on the sheriff's status. The photo he is using as his profile picture matched one of the photos posted by the sheriff and the department even mocked him as they asked if he could stop by the Sheriff's Office.
Due to this, tips about the possible location of Marcum were written on the comments by other Facebook users and he eventually turned himself in a day after. The officials then posted another photo of the criminal and it was his mug shot where he was seen crying. The caption of the photo says that Marcum will be off Facebook temporarily since there is no social media access in jail.
According to KTLA, Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones also posted photos and updates on Twitter but there was no immediate information available as to what charges will be given against Marcum.
