Less than a week after HBO's sci-fi robot drama "Westworld" was renewed for a second season, it has been revealed that a major character will be returning to the series when "Westworld" Season 2 hits the small screen. The news comes as the show heads into its last two episodes, and with the stakes very high, there is no telling who will survive until the end of the first season.

However, Ed Harris, who plays the role of the mysterious Man in Black, confirmed  that he will play a part in the upcoming season. "I was just talking to Jonah Nolan last night, who's a creator of this thing with his wife Lisa Joy, and yeah, they're doing another season," Harris said in an interview with BBC Radio 4. "They're going to do 10 more episodes, and I will be involved."

Fans were led to believe that Harris' character would be killed off in the last few episodes given that MiB has made several references about his death on the series and has been the subject of many popular theories that have predicted the same. However, it is important to point out that just because the actor has confirmed his involvement in the next season, it does not mean that his character will not die as the series gears up for the finale.

After the first season, it will be a while before "Westworld" fans get to watch the next chapter of the sci-fi drama. HBO programming head Casey Bloys announced last week that the second season will not return until 2018 owing to the immense amount of work and time that goes into show's production, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Westworld" revolves around a futuristic amusement park, where visitors can pay to live out their wildest fantasies in a wild-west-inspired world populated by robots. The show, which also stars Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton and Anthony Hopkins, will return next Sunday. Check out the promo of the upcoming episode below:
