The latest details for "Overwatch" will feature a new DLC character coming to the roster soon and Symmetra having two ultimate attacks.
Game director Jeff Kaplan announced new updates for "Overwatch" regarding the support character Symmetra as Kaplan stated that players can choose two ultimate attacks for her. Symmetra is known to use a teleporter as her ultimate to allow other charaters to be transported to its location, which is useful in during defense.
Now gamers can choose between two ultimates whenever her ultimate meter is at 100 percent. Her teleporter ultimate has more health in the update, and her second ultimate is called "Photon Barrier, which allows her to generate energy shields for the entire team.
While Symmetra is may be the first character to gain two ultimates in "Overwatch", Kaplan added that that the ability is “projected on a track of movement” and is designed to be more active than its previous iteration. It has also been compared to Winston and Reinhardt’s shield abilities.
Moreover, there are also changes to Symmetra’s turrets with six turrets able to be placed on a cooldown cycle instead of three and the beam from her primary fire has a slightly extended range. But despite this increased range, Kaplan ensures that “she’s not a long range beam sniper now”.
In addition, Blizzard Entertainment also announce that the Oasis map will be coming soon to the game, Gamerant reported.
Meanwhile, rumors are making rounds regarding the next DLC character in "Overwatch" as Doomfist could next in line after Sombra, iTechPost reported.
Doomfist is hinted to join "Overwatch" and was featured in the first animated short of the game. According to former "Overwatch" story teller Chris Metzen, Doomfist is a generational character all using the same super-powered gauntlets for both heroics and villainy.
Three characters who have used Doomfist have been featured in "Overwatch", with two characters being named Savior and Scourge, while the other is called the Successor, in this case the next person to adopt the mantle of Doomfist and possibly a future DLC character soon.
Other characters are rumored to join "Overwatch's" roster could be Liao and Athena. Athena is the official announcer in "Overwatch" and has been featured in the cinematic short "Recall" featuring Winston and Reaper. However, numerous theories and speculations hint that Athena could be a playable character in "Overwatch". Athena will be sporting an Omnic body with a female shape, single eye and a logo of her name on her head. She will likely be a support character.
Liao in the game is a founding member of the Overwatch team along with along with Jack Morrison/Soldier:76, Gabriel Reyes/Reaper, Ana Amari, Torbjorn and Reinhardt. Several fan speculations revealed that Liao may have a connection with the team's climatologist and current playable character Mei-Ling Zhou.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
