The latest details for "Tekken 7" will feature a possible February 2017 release date and a new story trailer for the sequel revealed.

Bandai Namco launched a new gameplay trailer for "Tekken 7" during the Golden Joystick Awards 2016 event as the video highlights its in-game fighting scenes with the series' trademark over-the-top cinematics, including a prominent appearance from "Street Fighter" crossover character Akuma, Gamesradar reported.

Akuma will play an important role in the Mishima family conflict as he attacks Heihachi and Kazuya in order to repay the debut he owes to Kazumi Mishima, Heihachi's wife and Kazuya's mother.

Other features in the trailer shows the move set of several characters such as Asuka, Bryan Fury, Marshall Law, King, Yoshimitsu, Shaheen, Alisa, Jose Rizal and many more.

Previous reports teased that five characters could be added to "Tekken 7" and these are Lei Wulong, Roger Jr., Anna Williams, Zafina and Julia Chang.

It is heavily speculated that Lei Wulong could return to "Tekken 7" as the game's first DLC character as game producer Katsuhiro Harada tweeted an answer to a fan asking if Lei will be added to "Tekken 7's" roster. He stated that their is still a chance for him to included, however, he explained the usage for the character was very low and their effort was not enough.

Roger Jr. on the other hand, will be rather unlikely as Harada and Bandai Namco has a "tough decision" on adding more non-human characters like Kuma and Roger Jr. in "Tekken 7". With that in mind, their decision might prompt a mixed response from gaming fans as some would prefer not add them in the roster, while others want them as they have been part of the "Tekken" series,

Julia Chang, Anna Williams and Zafina have not been added to "Tekken 7's" roster and Bandai Namco still consider them in the roster due the popularity these three have in past games.

Meanwhile, the possible release date for "Tekken 7" has been revealed online as Twitter username Wonki tweeted a claim that the sequel could launch on February 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.

However, Bandai Namco has yet to make a statement regarding the validity of the information as gaming fans are still skeptical about information from Wonkey's source, WCCFTech reported.

Harada added that his plans for "Tekken 7's" post-launch as he explained that fighting games should be released as a package and let the players enjoy for a unknown considerable amount of time. And if the gamers are done and want something new to the table, then Bandai Namco will release something new for the gaming fans to enjoy.

"Tekken 7" will launch in early 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
