'Rick and Morty' Season 3 news: Series to push through despite animation delay

| Nov 30, 2016 12:47 AM EST

"Rick and Morty" has become one of the most popular Adult Swim animated series.

Despite the delays with the famous "Rick and Morty" Season 3's animation, the show will still reportedly air in December because the famous animated series' script was already finished. The exact problems with the animation team were not disclosed.

During an interview with the "Chicks Who Script" podcast, "Rick and Morty" writer Erica Rosbe revealed that the script for the show has already been finished. She also implied that the much awaited third season's production would be finished within a few weeks. However, Rosbe did not reveal a release date for the premiere of "Rick and Morty" Season 3.

There were reports suggesting the possible reasons behind the show's delay and its current production status. "Rick and Morty" co-creator Dan Harmon stated in a Reddit AMA post that they are going as fast as they can on the production. Fans are still hoping that the show will air just in time for the holiday season.

Some fans still insist that there is still a chance considering that the showrunners and creators did not confirm a January 2017 release date. As long as they do not explicitly confirm a release date, the show can still air in December.

Fans want to know what will happen to Jerry, Beth, Morty and Summer after they have landed in the alien-infested Earth. The third season finale of the series showed that the alien authorities have taken over the planet presumably because of Rick's crimes.

"Rick and Morty" Season 3 could still be showed before 2016 ends based on the previous reports and information from people in the production team themselves. Grandpa Rick is expected to escape from the prison and speculations claim that Morty will be there to help him. The future of the Smiths family is still unknown.
