Former 2NE1 member Minzy is currently busy preparing for solo debut, according to her new agency Music Works.

2NE1 Minzy comeback is reportedly delayed due to the shocking news that 2NE1 disbanded.

"Our contract with 2NE1 came to an end in May of 2016, and as we faced a situation where Minzy is no longer with us, we ultimately came to a decision of 2NE1's official disbandment after long discussion," the YG Entertainment said in an official statement translated by All Kpop.

YG dumped the blame to Minzy's departure to be the final straw for 2NE1 disbandment. The Kpop queen girl group has been on hiatus since 2014 after Park Bom's drug scandal broke out. While Bom is keeping out of the spotlight, Dara and CL were busy furthering solo careers. CL held a solo comeback in 2015 with "Hello Bi+ches," while Dara starred in a web drama with fellow labelmate Kang Seungyoon. Minzy'scareer was left on the back burner.

Gong Minzy has decided to leave the group in April to launch her solo career. She signed to Music Works entertainment agency. While the label did not reveal the exact date of Minzy's debut as a solo artist, rumors claimed that Minzy will release a single next month.

According to SBS.com.au, a representative from the agency told Nate that Minzy was currently trying to decide on her solo debut concept. Moreover, the agency is not putting a deadline on Minzy's final word, so that she can make the right choice.

"We are currently requesting songs from composers and musicians, and working hard to find Minzy's own colour. There isn't one exclusive, and we are looking at everything from dance, ballad and such," the rep said.

Minzy's departure is reportedly due to lack of solo activities during the hiatus. The 2NE1 maknae reportedly want to focus on other things. Minzy was 16 when she debuted under YG.
