Galaxy S8 vs. iPhone 8: Desktop Mode, Beast Mode will give Galaxy S8 edge over iPhone 8

A new report has confirmed that Apple is testing more than 10 prototypes of iPhone 8. One of them is said to feature curved display.

The curved screen of the iPhone 8 is pegged to be driven by OLED technology. The OLED display  on iPhone will consume lesser power

Apple will require millions of OLED display for its upcoming iPhones and it will be depending more on its partners such as Samsung, LG Display, Sharp and Japan Display to get it ready for the year 2018.

Among these, Samsung is expected to be primary supplier of OLED panels. The other companies will be supplying for OLED screens for 2018 iPhone, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Highly Desirable iPhone 8 Coming in 2017

The technology will cost more than $5 billion for Sharp to manufacture OLED screens for Apple. Sharp chief executive Tai Jeng-wu said, ""We don't know whether Apple's OLED iPhones will be a hit, but if Apple doesn't walk down this path and transform itself, there will be no innovation. It is a crisis but it is also an opportunity," Business Insider reported.

Several competitor smartphones now come with numerous innovative features. This has caused iPhone sales to decline. It can be one of the reasons why Apple is under pressure to manufacture a highly desirable iPhone in 2017.

Innovative Features Arriving on iPhone 2017

Apple iPhone 7 that was launched in September this year has been criticized for not being different from predecessor models such as iPhone 6s and iPhone 6. The iPhone 7 seems to be almost iPhone 6s in design and features with just few updates.

Now, Apple is heavily pegged to launch iPhone 8 with innovative features such as full glass body with wireless charging and new edge-to-edge screen design. The Cupertino company based will change the physical appearance of the iPhone by blessing it with a curved display. It is rumored to come with fingerprint sensor embedded under the display. Hence, it will not be featuring a Home button.
