Serie A 2016-2017: Juventus vs Atalanta, Preview, Prediction & Predicted Lineup

Five straight Italian first division champions Juventus (11-3-0, 33 points) are scheduled to clash with streaking contenders Atalanta BC (9-4-1, 28 points) at the Juventus Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 3 as the 2016-2017 Serie A season continues.

Juventus has suffered two of its three losses so far this season in the last six rounds of Italian top flight competitions. Despite that, the team is still on top of the Serie A table, four points above second-running team Roma.

The defending champs were upset by middling club Genoa, 1-3, on the road at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium last Sunday, as per BBC Sport.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri's team was plagued by injuries during the game with Juve's premier defender Leonardo Bonucci being carried out in the 32nd minute while Dani Alves was also carted off with a broken leg in the 77th. Both players are questionable in this match against Atalanta.

At the moment, top striker Paulo Dybala is also out with an injury for the Old Lady.

Genoa zoomed ahead to a 3-0 lead with a brace from Argentine forward Giovanni Simeone in the third and 13th minutes and an own goal by Alex Sandro in the 29th. Juve was able to score a consolation goal in the 82nd courtesy of midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Meanwhile, Atalanta is currently on a six-game winning run to climb to the fifth spot of the league table.

La Dea is coming off a 2-0 thrashing of Bologna on the road at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium last Sunday, via SkySports.

Italian defender Andrea Masiello broke the game's deadlock with a tight-angled goal in the 15th minute from a cross by teammate Alejandro Gomez while Slovenian midfielder Jasmin Kurtic doubled the lead in the 68th to complete goalkeeper Marco Sportiello's clean sheet.

Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is expected to push Juve to the limit in this game, but the Italian champions are still predicted to prevail.
