Shelley Hennig, Tyler Posey, Cody Christian, Khylin Rhambo and Dylan Sprayberry arrive at MTV's 'Teen Wolf' and 'Sweet/Vicious' Premiere Event on November 14, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

Having high school crushes can be hard and oftentimes it leads to an endless game of catch. For the case of Stiles and Lydia on "Teen Wolf," the push and pull has lasted for a good five seasons. In "Teen Wolf" Season 6, however, Stydia might actually happen and have their happily ever after.

"Teen Wolf" Season 6 will be the show's final run, which means questions are answered and lose ends are fixed. In the case of Stydia, they are given the chance to finally take their romantic relationship in newer, greater heights.

In the season premiere, the Ghost Riders have captured Stiles. Because of this, no one in Beacon Hills remembers Stiles now, not even his own father, nor is anyone aware that he even exists.

At this point, Lydia is the only person who holds the key to Stiles' rescue since she is the only one who feels as though she's missing someone in her life. This is probably because of the last words Stiles told her before he was taken: "Remember, I love you."

Creator Jeff Davis said that when the story for Season 6 was being created, there was a debate among writers as to whether Stiles and Lydia should stay friends or end up together as a couple.

"Finding out that this is the last season makes you want to go for things that you've been holding off on. We've seen them as great friends, as antagonists and even as Lydia not knowing who the hell Stiles is. It's a progression of their relationship that, to us, felt pretty natural," TVLine quoted Davis as saying about the decision to make Stydia happen.

Davis adds that although Lydia's being a banshee makes her more aware of Stiles' absence, it is actually their strong connection and "special relationship" that allows her to remember Stiles more than the others do.

For now, the future still looks unclear for another Stydia hook up since Stiles is still stuck on the other side while Lydia heads a search party to find someone whom she thinks was her friend. Davis, however, teases that in "Teen Wolf" Season 6, Stiles and Lydia's relationship go from "a simple crush to friends to something deeper," EW reported.

"Teen Wolf" Season 6 airs every Tuesdays on MTV.
