AMC has excitingly given fans a first glimpse of "Into the Badlands" Season 2. Recently, the network released some first look photos, including a glimpse of Nick Frost as Bajie.
In the photos obtained by Entertainment Weekly, Sunny (Daniel Wu) looked exhausted than ever following his imprisonment by the River King (Lance E. Nichols). He is seen alongside Bajie, an irreverent and unlikely new ally. The Widow (Emily Beecham), on the other hand, appeared to have escaped the prison but is still on the run from the other Barons.
Along with the photos, AMC also released the first synopsis for "Into the Badlands" Season 2. The next season finds Sunny and M.K. (Aramis Knight) separated and scattered to the wind, each detained in unlikely places. While the latter struggles to control his powers, the former is determined to fight his way back into the Badlands to find his family.
Fans can also expect a dark and mysterious threat coming. The said threat aims to exact revenge on them all. By the end of Season 2, Sunny and M.K.'s lives will be perpetually modified with devastating outcomes.
Though nothing is officially set in stone yet, latest spoiler hint at the potential cameo appearance of legendary actor Jackie Chan, 62. In a sit-down interview with BT.com, the "Overheard 3" actor said he will try to ask the "Kung Fu Yoga" star to make a special appearance in the upcoming season.
"He did help us promote our show with a viral video when we first started the first season," Wu said. "And he made a little clip about how he was disappointed that he wasn't involved, so maybe we'll try and get him involved at a certain point!"
"Into the Badlands" Season 2 will premiere on March 2017. Check out the official trailer here:
