Hertha Berlin has been undefeated in five of their last six matches and is currently on a two-game winning run. With their recent successes, the team has climbed up to the third spot of the German top flight table, three points below defending champions and second-place squad Bayern Munich.

In their most recent fixture last Saturday, Die Alte Dame escaped with a 3-2 win over reeling team Wolfsburg on the road at the Volkswagen Arena, as per ESPN.

Wolfsburg opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a right-footer from Spanish forward Borja Mayoral from the left side of the six-yard box. Hertha immediately leveled the count in the 16th with a goal by defender Marvin Plattenhardt.

The hosts got back the lead just two minutes later as midfielder Paul Seguin buried a tight-angled shot from a pass by teammate Yannick Gerhardt, giving the Wolves a 2-1 lead at the break.

Hertha was able to find the equalizer in the 69th with a goal from substitute midfielder Alexander Esswein and eventually scored the winner in injury time, courtesy of forward Salomon Kalou, after Wolfsburg was cut down to 10 men.

Meanwhile, Werder Bremen snapped a five-game winless streak with a 2-1 win over cellar-dwellers FC Ingolstadt at their home ground of Weserstadion last Saturday, Sporting Life reported.

German striker Max Kruse scored the opening goal in the 24th minute before Ingolstadt defender Markus Suttner was able to equalize the game in the 58th.

Midfielder Fin Bartels found the winning goal in the 76th off a pass by Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro to pull off the win for head coach Alexander Nouri's side.
