Contending squad Torino FC (7-4-4, 25 points) will try to bounce back from their previous lackluster performance as they meet five-straight Italian top flight champions Juventus FC (12-3-0, 36 points) in a 2016-2017 Serie A season at the Olimpico di Torino on Sunday, Dec. 11.

Torino is coming off a 0-2 defeat in the hands of middling squad Sampdoria on the road at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium last Sunday, via SkySports.

It was a scoreless first half for both sides as the two teams' defenses successfully fended off each other's attacks in the first 45 minutes of action.

Sampdoria midfielder Edgar Barreto finally netted the opening goal in the 51st minute with a left-footer from the center of the box to the bottom left corner of Torino keeper Joe Hart's net. The assist came from teammate Matias Silvestre.

Head coach Siniša Mihajlović's boys tried to fight back, but La Samp was effective in denying their advances.

Czech forward Patrik Schick scored in injury time to seal the victory for the hosts as Torino snapped a three-game winning streak.

With the loss, Torino remained in the seventh spot of the Serie A table, three points below Napoli, Lazio, and Atalanta, who are all tied on points from the fourth to sixth positions.

Meanwhile, Juventus bounced back from their 1-3 upset loss to Genoa in the previous round by beating Atalanta, 3-1, at the Juventus Stadium, Goal reported.

Juve netted two quick goals in the first half, courtesy of defenders Alex Sandro and Daniele Rugani in the 15th and 19th minutes respectively, giving the defending champs a 2-0 lead at the halftime break.

Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic made it a 3-0 count in the 64th minute as the Old Lady obtained full control of the contest.

Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler scored a consolation goal in the 82nd to avoid a shutout.
