In line with its 30 years in the gaming industry, game developer Ubisoft is now offering free download of "Assassin's Creed III" for PC, but only for a limited time. This will be the last game offering for this year.
Gamers who want to re-live the adventures of assassins Desmond Miles, Connor Kenway, and Haytham Kenway, can login to their accounts at UPlay and download the game. Those who are unfamiliar but want to experience what it is like to be a member of an ancient secret society with a mission during the American Revolution can also register at the company's game service, for free, and download the game.
There have been reports that Ubisoft's servers are struggling with the demand connected to the most recent announcement. Apparently, a lot of gamers are interested in the game so those who want to download it should try to exert some patience. It is expected to remain available until the first week of January.
Meanwhile, "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag" has reportedly been disappearing from the accounts of several game owners. According to PC Gamer, this happened right after installing the copy of the recently announced free game. Ubisoft has not issued any statement regarding the matter, but there were already several acknowledgements from owners that the game is back on their list of available games.
"Assassin's Creed III" was released back in 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Windows PC. It is set in 1775 during the early part of the American Revolution. Aside from assassinations, players will also get to have a lot of free running and a more fluid parkour movements, either in the city streets or in the wilderness.
"Assassin's Creed III" is the seventh and last game that is part of the celebration that started mid this year. In June, Ubisoft offered "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time"; in July, they made "Splinter Cell" available; and in August, it was "Rayman Origins." In September, "The Crew" was offered free, October's was "Beyond Good & Evil," and last month, the company gave away "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon."
"Assassin's Creed III" is now free to download via the UPlay services of Ubisoft.
