"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" has gotten an update that will make owners of the PlayStation 4 Pro rather happy.
The game reportedly received Update Version 1.50, which mainly adds 4K support for Sony's new console. This would be most useful using a 4K television. The original game for the PS4 is at 900p, so one can surmise that the update would allow for something more than 1080p resolution. Gamers have not noticed any other addition, however.
User Blackthorn who posted a comment on the thread on Neogaf says that a 4K capture features artefacts not seen on a 1080p capture. Meanwhile, iTehDroid says that the minimap seems to be native 4K but thinks that the game is still running on 900p. The consensus it that there are stil bugs on the patch.
"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" was released in October 2015, and while there is no new addition to the "Assassin's Creed" main series just yet, game developer Ubisoft has launched the "Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection," which is comprised of remastered versions of earlier titles in the series.
The games in the collection are from the Renaissance Era, namely: "Assassin's Creed II," first released in 2009; "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood," released in 2010; and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations," released in 2011.
However, there have been some comments on the graphics of the remastered version, particularly for "Assassin's Creed II" wherein an NPC appears rather bug-eyed. Game developer Ubisoft issued a statement to answer this issue.
"The NPC in question only appears in Sequence 1, Memory 1 in Assassin's Creed II and is randomly generated, appearing infrequently," Ubisoft said, as quoted by Kotaku. "The graphics issue does not affect the core gameplay of Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection."
Also, there are broken animations in the remastered version, but YouTube user SupJamChan pointed out that these are due to glitch that were carried over from the original versions. Ubisoft said that the collection has received favorable reviews from both fans and newcomers to the "Assassin's Creed" franchise.
