Song Joong-Ki is a handsome webtoon writer in 'The Sound of Heart'; 'Descendants of the Sun' airs in Greece

Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo star in the KBS 2TV drama 'Descendants of the Sun.'

Song Joong-Ki, who portrayed Army Captain Yoo Si Jin aka Big Boss in KBS 2TV's "Descendants of the Sun," will be making a special appearance in the upcoming sitcom "The Sound of Heart." He is set to appear in the first and last episodes, with the first one slated to air on Dec. 09 at 11:10 PM (KST).

Viewers can expect to see the 31-year-old Hallyu star transforms into a successful webtoon author. His character is described as a quintessential handsome and warm-hearted guy, who is a friend of Jo Seok's (Lee Kwang-Soo), Yonhap News Agency reported.

At "The Sound of Heart" press conference on Dec. 8, Thursday, Lee talked about his close friend's special cameo appearance in the show. He revealed, "I asked him if he could appear as a cameo and he immediately said yes without having even looked at the script."

Directed by Ha Byung-Hoon, "The Sound of Heart" follows the adventure of an aspiring cartoonist Jo Seok and his wife Aebong (Jung So-Min). It has already been released as a web drama on Naver TV Cast, but it will be aired on KBS from Dec. 9 until Jan. 6, 2017 for 20-episode.

Meanwhile, "Descendants of the Sun" is the latest South Korean drama series that aired in Greece. The KBS drama premiered on Dec. 7 on TV100, a private Greek TV channel in Thessaloniki.

"Descendants of the Sun" runs in the primetime slot of 9:00 PM every Wednesday and 4:30 PM on Sundays. Since numerous scenes were filmed in popular tourist destinations such as Arachova and Zakynthos Island, TV100 is reportedly expecting the 19-episode drama will gain high viewership in the country.

In a statement obtained by Soompi, Ambassador Ahn Young Jip of the Korean Embassy said he hopes the broadcast of "Descendants of the Sun" would deepen the cultural exchange between South Korea and Greece.
