miss A's Bae Suzy is currently gearing up for the next chapter in her career. JYP Entertainment recently revealed the 22-year-old idol will make a comeback as a solo artist, but has yet to decide on a final date for it.
In a statement obtained by The Kpop Herald, JYP Entertainment said they have not talked about when Suzy will debut as a solo artist. Nonetheless, they revealed the Kpop idol has been busy working on her new album, which includes recording new tracks and doing several photo shoots.
It is said that variety of genres are being considered for her new album and that some tracks have already been recorded as well. Many are also expecting that her solo album will incorporate another self-composed song after she recorded a self-composed OST song for her previous drama "Uncontrollably Fond."
The shocking news comes days after Suzy was reported to be prepping up for a solo debut in late December or early January of 2017. Reports also claimed the miss A member had filmed a music video for her solo album in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Suzy has recently confirmed to take over the lead female role in SBS' upcoming drama tentatively titled "While You're Sleeping," as per local newsoutlet Asia Today, as cited by Soompi. She will play a woman who has the ability to see accidents that will happen to others through her dreams.
Opposite Suzy is "W - Two Worlds" actor Lee Jong-Suk. He plays a prosecutor who does all that he can to prevent those dreams from becoming real. The drama will benefit from the creativity of screenwriter Park Hye-Ryun and director Oh Choong-Hwan, whose previous projects include this year's hit SBS drama "Doctors" and the 2013-2014 pan-Asia hit "My Love From the Star."
Production company SidusHQ will wrap up all of the necessary logistics before the year ends and is set to kick off the production in early 2017. It will be a 100 percent pre-produced drama and was given a Wednesday-Thursday time slot. More details about the project will be revealed soon.
