Naughty Dog kicked off the PlayStation Experience event with a bang on Dec. 3, Saturday by unveiling the very first gameplay trailer of "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy." The video game will come in the form of a DLC for the hugely successful title "Uncharted 4" and here is what we know so far about the upcoming game.

"Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" was met with a roar of approval from fans of the "Uncharted" series, which up until now featured Nathan Drake as the main protagonist. However, the DLC will take place after the events of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" and follow the story of Chloe Frazer, who first made her debut in "Uncharted 2."

Frazer will team up with Nadine Ross from "Uncharted 4." "Much like Chloe, Nadine is a formidable and interesting character whose complex nature we just started exploring in her 'Uncharted 4' debut," Naughty Dog said in a statement obtained by PC Advisor. "She's a skilled tactician, whose cool, calculating nature offers an important contrast to Chloe's improvisation and wit."

Although, "The Lost Legacy" is a DLC, Naughty Dog is billing it as its biggest story expansion to date. The developer also confirmed that "The Lost Legacy" will be available as a standalone game both digitally as well as in retail stores, Forbes reported.

No release date has been set for the upcoming title, but the game is slated to release sometime in 2017. Moreover, the developer confirmed that owners of the "Uncharted 4" digital deluxe edition or the explorer's pack will be able to play the game for free.

In the nine-minute gameplay trailer premiered at the PlayStation event, Frazer can be seen wandering through a war-torn city in India to rendezvous with Ross as they continue their quest to find the long lost Tusk of Ganesha. Watch the gameplay demo of "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" below:
