The "Suits" Season 6 delivered heavy news that will change Pearson Specter Litt forever. One of the firm's pillars, Jessica Pearson, has decided to exit the firm and move to Chicago. Jessica has always been the referee to Louis Litt and Harvey Specter's bouts, so having her gone raises issues as to who will lead the firm next.
Harvey and Louis oftentimes never saw eye to eye and their arguments (minus Jessica's interference) puts the firm in a position of disadvantage. In a "Suits" Season 6B spoiler from TVLine, Jessica's departure "will raise questions about who will lead the firm" and whether that person can handle the pressure and how. While it remains uncertain who will succeed Jessica, one thing's for sure: the transition will not be easy.
"And then Louis and Harvey are going to have a little bit of a struggle as to what they're going to do moving forward without Jessica, as you would imagine the two of them," creator Aaron Korsh told Deadline. "There's going to be a little conflict over who's running the show and what they're going to do."
Choosing between Louis and Harvey will be difficult, given both have made tremendous contributions to the firm. While Harvey became name partner earlier than Louis did, it's unlikely the latter will take this fight sitting down.
However, Louis' current circumstances might keep his focus away from the managing partner post. He is currently engaged to Tara, which means his attention might be more on his romantic relationship than on his career.
Another possibility is that Louis and Harvey will lead on equal terms, given that each man will respect one another. If ever they really fail to get along (like they always do) a new partner might step in to take Jessica's place. Robert Zane has been lingering around the corner in the hopes of sealing a merger between Harvey's firm and his firm. While these two firms weren't always the best allies, the situation in the firm might require Harvey and Louis to seek outside help.
"Suits" Season 6B will return on USA Network on January 2017.
