The internet is dark and filled with spoilers and fan theories as viewers' inch closer to the premiere of "Suits" Season 6. There's particular interest on Rachel Zane (played by Meghan Markle), and how she moves on and deals with the after-effects of her foiled wedding with Mike and his subsequent imprisonment.
In the recently revealed promo of "Suits" Season 6, Rachel receives a call from the white collar prison Mike (played by Patrick J. Adams) is in. Although their conversation was not revealed in the teaser, a scene of Mike having trouble in prison hints that he may be asking Rachel for advice and help. In addition, this is a telling sign that the lovers are still keeping in touch.
Speaking to E! News, Adams teased that Mike and Rachel will have a reunion of sorts in "Suits" Season 6, since the two stars shot several scenes together.
"We've shot a couple of scenes together, and those were great to be reconnected with Meghan for a little bit," Adams said. However, their relationship is not exactly in tip top shape and Adams noted that season 6 will be a great one for Rachel "because she's separated from Mike."
"Her story is not about how she can service Mike or take care of Mike or keep Mike's secret or be mad at Mike," he added. Does this mean Mike and Rachel are endgame? Maybe, maybe not.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, new characters will join the "Suits" cast in Season 6. In "Suits" Season 6, Rachel will also form an interesting connection with one of the new characters, Professor Dunbar (Malcolm Gets). He is Rachel's ethics instructor at Columbia Law. The character is said to mentor Rachel, and help her get opportunities that will foster her legal expertise, both in the classroom and in court.
There are also rumblings that Rachel's relationship with Professor Dunbar in "Suits" Season 6 may develop into something more romantic, but it will not last long. Executive producer Aaron Korsh also addressed rumors about Rachel possibly being pregnant in "Suits" Season 6. In response to a fan on Twitter, he said that having Rachel pregnant "would be an easy way to go," indicating that the show is not likely to go down that path.
"Suits" Season 6 will premiere on July 13.
