Kim Min Suk is going to court after several reports alleged that the actor was involved in an adult masturbation video that was leaked online. The actor has now decided to take the legal recourse in the wake of the sex tape controversy.
A video uploaded to various online community sites on Dec. 10, showed a man bearing a striking resemblance to the "Descendants of the Sun" actor stripping down and touching himself in front of the camera. The actor's agency has now issued an official statement saying that they have decided to take legal action against all those responsible for spreading the malicious rumors.
"We announce that the recent malicious rumors creating controversies have nothing to do with our artist Kim Min Suk," Woollim Entertainment said in a statement obtained by AllKPop. "Spreading malicious, false rumors on and offline is a crime, and it also leads to mental harm to the artist and his family, label, as well as supportive fans."
The label added that because of this, they will be taking legal action to protect their talent's interests. The agency also expressed gratitude to fans who have showered the actor with their love, support and encouragement and urged them to continue doing so.
The decision to take legal action comes a day after Kim expressed his anger via an Instagram post and denied any possibility of his involvement in the sex tape, which he rubbished as an unbelievable and baseless rumor. Kim wrote that all he wanted to do was enjoy noodle soup with [INFINITE's] Sunggyu but instead kept receiving calls about filming a nude video, which he was not a part of.
Some of the other stars who have fallen victim to the sex tape controversy recently include the likes of Seo Ha Joon, Seo Joon Young, and Hyeongkon of A-JAX, according to the same publication. For more details on Kim's reaction to the sex tape, watch the video below:
