Former 2NE1 member Gong Minzy sports new hair color after 2NE1 disband news

Minzy solo debut is reportedly delayed in 2017, if the statements of the former 2NE1 member are to be believed.

In a recent V live interview with SPICA's Bohyung, Minzy revealed that she attended school this year that is one of the factors of the delay. "I think I will become busier. I will meet you guys often. I will release an album, have a great time with you all, then go on a trip," Minzy said in the interview, according to All Kpop. Below are the three reasons why Minzy's solo debut is pushed back early next year.

Clean slate

Minzy probably wants a clean slate for the new chapter in her life and career and it is best to do it right after the New Year. 2016 has been full of controversy for Gong Minzy. She left 2NE1 and YG Entertainment in April after she decided not to renew her contract with the label. YG also disbanded 2NE1 last month citing Minzy's departure as the main factor for the said decision. The label stated that they find it difficult to continue with a trio.

Perfecting the album

Minzy also revealed in the interview that she is writing her own music delaying the process. She wants her new album to be a nice gift to her fans so she is pouring her heart in the lyrics by trying to be inspired all the time to write songs. This ambition of trying to create a perfect album by not relying to other songwriters for song is a commendable trait of Minzy.

2NE1 scandal and rumored XXI reborn

The breakup of 2NE1 is too much for Blackjacks. Minzy probably wants some time to let the issue die naturally before dropping a new album so it will not stain Minzy's work. There are wild rumors saying that YG Entertainment reportedly wants to reborn the trio as "XXI". The name 2NE1 used to stand for the four members. Now, XXI will stand for the remaining three members.
