Koei Tecmo has announced that "Toukiden 2" will be coming to the West in Spring 2017. The official website with the game's details have also been revealed.

According to the official website of the game company, the upcoming open-world video game will be launched in Europe and North America sometime in Spring 2017. There were no details on which platforms it will be released, but the Japanese version released the video game earlier this year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. It will most likely launch on the PS4 and PS Vita due to their popularity.

The game company released several screenshots on their official website that introduces the video game's improved battlefields. They also revealed a new original anime short film by Studio 4C, which can be viewed below. The video focuses on the events that happened before the video game and it also shows some of the new characters that will join the players on their journey.

According to the official website of the video game, players will be taking the roles of the Slayers whose mission is to eradicate the Oni menace. They will need to use their special abilities as the Slayers to fight together with their allies and save the world from total annihilation.

The video game will feature a system, which lets players destroy a body part of larger Oni. By destroying one part of the body, it will weaken its strength and defenses, which will allow them to finally slay the monster.

"Toukiden 2" will feature an open world system, which will be the setting of the video game. The village will have lush greenery and familiar buildings, while the battlefields will be set in a desolate wasteland known as the Otherworld. These places will be formed by rifts in space-time that have been created by the Oni.

Aside from the body part destruction feature, the video game will now feature the giant Demon Hand. This allows players to perform powerful actions like slamming their enemies to the ground without any problems. Destroying body parts of the Oni will also cause them to change movement patters, which will make them think of other ways to take it down.
