Manchester City has been reeling of late being winless in three of their last six matches to fall to the fourth spot of the English top flight table from being the league leaders in the first few rounds of competitions.

In their most recent game on Wednesday, the Citizens snapped a two-game losing slide by blanking middling squad Watford, 2-0, also at their home ground of Etihad Stadium, as per Goal.

Argentine defender Pablo Zabaleta opened the scoring for head coach Pep Guardiola's side with a goal in the 33rd minute from a cross by Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

City then doubled their lead in the 86th minute with a goal by Spanish winger David Silva via a give-and-go play with Raheem Sterling off the counterattack.

German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is out for City after tearing the ACL in his right knee and will reportedly miss the rest of the season. City will also miss the services of Sergio Agüero and Fernandinho, who are both serving separate suspensions.

Meanwhile, Arsenal suffered their first loss since their season-opening defeat to Liverpool with a sorry 1-2 setback against Everton to drop to the third place in the overall standings, SkySports reported.

Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez scored the first goal of the match in the 20th minute, but the Toffees were able to score the next two goals, courtesy of Seamus Coleman and Ashley Williams in the 44th and 86th minutes, to pull off the come-from-behind victory.

Aaron Ramsey and Shkodran Mustafi are still out for head coach Arsene Wenger because of hamstring issues while Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker, and Santi Cazorla are all out as well due to knee problems.

The predicted result is a tough 2-1 win by Manchester City.
