West Ham has struggled to find their winning form all season as they are now in the 15th spot of the 20-team English top flight table, four points above the bottom three relegation area. They are tied on points with defending champions Leicester City but has a lesser goal difference.
The Hammers snapped a six-game winless streak as they pulled off a close 1-0 nipping of newly-promoted side Burnley also at the London Stadium on Wednesday, as per ESPN.
Team captain Mark Noble provided the winning goal for head coach Slaven Bilić squad during the game with a rebound play after Burnley keeper Tom Heaton blocked his own shot during the first half injury time.
Both sides went scoreless after that as West Ham was finally able to score a win and add three points to their total.
Meanwhile, Hull City was demolished by powerhouse team Tottenham Hotspur, 0-3, on the road at the White Hart Lane also on Wednesday, SkySports reported.
Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen netted a brace in the 14th and 63rd minutes and Victor Wanyama added another one in the 73rd for the hosts as the Spurs also kept the Tigers goalless in the entire match.
The loss was the fifth consecutive winless performance for head coach Mike Phelan's side as they are now second from the last place in the overall standings, only one point ahead of cellar-dwellers Sunderland.
Both teams have been struggling to find wins recently, but the Hammers are slightly favored to win over the Tigers in this encounter.
