Rage-quitting is when a player decides to leave a match even when the fight isn't officially over. Many games have implemented harsh penalties for this kind of behavior and now Capcom has issued a penalty for rage-quitters in "Street Fighter V."

Players who disrupt the game and leave an unfinished match will now be given a profile badge as well as other restrictions, Gamespot reported. The rage-quitter's profile will now have a skull badge and a player who never rage-quits will have a shield badge placed on their profile.

This system will allow players to easily identify those who tend to leave during a match and those who don't. Matchmaking will also be affected as the system sorts the honest gamers together, leaving the rage-quitters to play against each other.

Other penalties have also been listed. These penalties include the reduction of League Points or LP and temporary restrictions in matchmaking. The latter will involve only being able to make matches with other players labeled with the rage-quitter emblem.

According to Cinema Blend, the one area of concern is how this penalty system will be able to distinguish actual rage-quitters from players merely suffering from poor Internet connection. A skilled player may get disconnected due to their Internet stability and could be labeled as a rage-quitter.

Capcom has yet to address how it will handle this distinction or if there will be a means for a player to prove he or she was merely disconnected.  It is also uncertain at this point if the company is also planning further penalties or rewards for those who do and do not rage-quit a match in progress.

"Street Fighter V" is receiving several updates other than the penalty and reward system for rage-quitting. A DLC has been showcased and will add Akuma as a playable character and Rashid is getting a new stage in which players will fight inside an airplane.
