Ryu punches Iron Man in the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" teaser.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" has just been unveiled but it is not clear who the characters will be. With the X-Men out of the mix, there is a large gap to be filled by the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

There are a lot of fighting games available in the market for PCs and consoles but the "Marvel vs. Capcom" franchise is, without a doubt, one of the largest and most popular. It would seem that the franchise will try something different with the "Infinite" title that is expected to come out some time in 2017.

There are a lot of possible characters from Marvel considering that the MCU movies have been making lots of money in the past few years. Capcom's classics such as Ryu, Ken and even Akuma are expected to be making a comeback in the new fighting game.

The Punisher and Daredevil could be some of the hard hitters in the new "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" video game considering their Netflix hit, Comics Verse reported. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones could also be in the mix but they are some of the more obscured characters in the MCU.

For Capcom, Asura and Rashid could make an entrance. They are relatively new but they hold some pretty interesting skill and power sets for players to experiment with. Leon S. Kennedy could also show up since other "Resident Evil" characters have already debuted in the previous "Marvel vs. Capcom" titles in the past.

While Rocket was introduced in the last game even before the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie was released, Groot was unavailable. Groot could then be present in the new "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" title because of his great exposure in the film and in other media, Event Hubs reported.

Fans will have to wait for a few more weeks as the official character roster for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" has not been revealed yet. They may unveil it soon before its release date in 2017.
