Game developer The Coalition has just spread their own kind of Holiday spirit to their avid followers as their latest installment in the "Gears of War" franchise has been endowed with a season-inspired update that is now being enjoyed by its fans.
Known as the "Gearsmas" event, the event update has dumped a huge lineup of goodies for the fans which include weapons and armor sets that has been laden with designs that are fit for the season. Per "Gears of War's" website, the "Gearsmas" Holiday pack has a total of 28 items that are up for grabs during the event's duration. Players can either use the in-game credits or acquire them using real cash. In addition, it was also quoted that each pack bought will come with a bounty and a couple of "Gearsmas" items such as Christmas-themed weapon skins, the so-called "ugly Gearsmas armor" variants of the Swarm Drone, JD, and even Kait. A commemorative emblem is also included in the list that gives an aesthetic value to the appearance of the character.
Daily rewards have also been introduced to the game that will shell out items not found in the aforementioned "Gearsmas" pack. By the time the update went live, The Coalition has given away a "Chuzzmas emblem" for players who played the game during that day. Come Dec. 27, players will be given yet another treat as it will give away a weapon skin for the Ice Boomshot.
Apart from the packs and daily treats, the event also included a special snowball fight game mode where players get the chance to try the weapon known as the Snowshot that shoots snowballs that are still fatal to opposing players.
The site even hinted that they'll be giving away something snazzy on Christmas day as fans are advised to look forward to it.
In the interim, Xbox Wire also brought good tidings prior to The Coalition's announcement as they are currently offering a generous 35 percent discount to "Gears of War 4" copies that started last Dec. 5 until Dec. 28.
