Kim Yoo Jung, 17, who stars alongside Park Bo Gum in the romantic hit "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds," has been rushed to the hospital. The actress was at a promotional event for her upcoming film, after which she was hospitalized.
The company that handles the promotions of Kim's upcoming film, "Because I Love You," shared an update on the actress's health via an official statement released to All Kpop. The company said,"Kim Yoo Jung's cold worsened after completing the one-night-two-day-long promotion event in Hong Kong. Ultimately, she was sent to the emergency room for treatment last night."
According to the company, Kim was fine and there was no cause for concern. The company pointed out that the actress also received treatment for over-exhaustion, which was a result of her busy schedule.
Kim will be taking a break from promotions temporarily in order to recover from her condition, according to the company. She was originally scheduled to sit down for an interview for her upcoming film on Dec. 22, Thursday, but the interview now stands cancelled.
Moments before the actress was admitted to the hospital, she drew flak for her on-stage behavior at the promotional event. She was standing alongside Cha Tae Hyun and other actors on stage as they greeted the members of the press and fans that attended the event when her posture rubbed several fans the wrong way, according to the same publication.
As the film's cast stood on stage, Kim was spotted leaning on one leg and appeared uninterested as she played with her hands and checked out her nails, paying no attention to what was happening around her. Several netizens pointed out that Kim's behavior was not pleasant to watch and accused her of being unprofessional and ill mannered.
Some netizens went as far as saying that the actress' hospitalization and schedule cancellation was just a cover up and an attempt made by her label to subside the issue that was quickly turning into a controversial incident. Watch footage of Kim's behavior at the event below:
