WayForward's newest game, "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero," has officially launched. In celebration for the game's release the developers have also released the official launch trailer to showcase the soundtrack, HD graphics and new gameplay styles.

Throughout the trailer Shantae is shown using her signature hair attack although her transformations are also put to the spotlight. Shantae is capable of transforming into a mermaid, an elephant and a spider, as shown in the footage.

According to Dual Shockers, the trailer also reveals a sneak peek at some of the bosses in the game. One of the bosses shown is a giant centipede with a single eye. Another boss shown is a large mermaid with rotating platforms.

While her transforming powers are the main draw she is also shown casting a few spells. Shantae is shown casting a thunder cloud that can strike enemies with a bolt of lightning and she is also shown using a type of shield. It is uncertain if these are spells or just consumable items as they were in the previous game, "Shantae and the Pirate's Curse."

The bosses are not the only highlight as completing the game will also grant the player an opportunity to fight Shantae's arch rival, Risky, Nintendo Life reported. Risky herself will be a playable character but since she cannot transform into animals she will be using her pirate tools, similar to how Shantae controlled in "The Pirate's Curse."

As a result of reaching the stretch goals on Kickstarter the developers will also make several other characters playable. These include Sky, Bolo and Rottytops. No release date for these extra DLC characters has yet been announced.

Sky will be able to use birds and can collect eggs to access new powers. Bolo fights with a ball-and-chain while Rottytops focuses on her zombie nature to feed on enemies.

"Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" is now available for Windows PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and the Wii U.
