Pebble Time recently broke its own Kickstarter record when it managed to raise more than $17 million from 67, 000 backers. Pebble managed to break two records with its latest crowd funding campaign as it also broke the record previously held by "Coolest Cooler" as the highest ever Kickstarter campaign.

The first version of the Pebble Time was able to garner more than $10.2 in crowd funding when it was introduced two years ago. Coolest Cooler was able to amass$13.2 million during its crowd funding campaign. The new Pebble Time however was able to top that record in just a matter of days and the fund will undoubtedly continue to rise as the campaign still have 24 days to go before it officially closes.

As of Mar. 9 the Pebble time has already raised $13,630,628 in total funding, according to Techno Buffalo.

The new Pebble Time sports a significantly smaller body compared to its predecessor. The smartwatch's entire body is made from metal and the colored display was made even thinner compared to the original.

The new version of Pebble Time also sports a Gorilla Glass screen which makes its more prone to damages incurred when dropped. Just like its predecessor, the new Pebble Time can still be synchronized to any iOS and Android device in order to access messages, internet and call logs. Additionally, Pebble will also throw in a software development kit in order to give interested programmers the chance to develop their own apps, according to The Next Digit.

Based on its official Kickstarter campaign page, backers will receive the early-bird version of the new Pebble Time for only $159 and will be delivered before the end of May.
