The Pebble has announced its new version of smartwatch on Feb. 24, Tuesday and it is currently available in Kickstarter.
The PC Mag reported that the company is returning to its roots with the Kickstarter to launch the Pebble Time smartwatch.
On Kickstarter website, the Pebble Time is available today for $159 and it will start shipping in May, while others who do not like into crowdfunding, can purchase the device when it hits the digital shelves for $199.
Furthermore, the said device features color e-paper display and microphone to respond to the notifications. Also, it sports a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass lens, stainless steel bezel and 20 percent more thinner compared to its original watch.
The Pebble CEO Eric Migicvosky says that using e-paper allows the smartwatch to maintain its key features, such as remaining visible under direct sunlight, according to USA Today.
As for the microphone feature available on Pebble Time, Migicovsky said: "We didn't want to make something that you speak into and it has to guess what you're saying, or it gets it wrong and you have to constantly repeat yourself, because at the end of the day, you might as well pull out your phone at that point."
Moreover, the Pebble Time can last up to 7 days and it is fully compatible with more than 6,500 existing Pebble app and watch faces.
Other features include, color screen, timeline, tactile buttons for easy eyes-free clicking, silent vibrating alarms, step tracking with Misfit and Jawbone, language and international character support and works on iOS 8 and above.
Meanwhile, Pebble Time also works on Android 4.0+ phones including, Xiaomi, Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola, HTC and more.
