'Winds of Winter' release imminent; Book still being proof-read?

“The Winds of Winter” is the sixth installment of the of “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the basis of HBO’s popular series “Game of Thrones.”

Speculations are rife that the much-delayed book "Winds of Winter" may be released very soon. It is rumored to being proof-read currently.

Besides the imminent release of "Winds of Winter," there are also rumors that the last book of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series " A Dream of Spring" is also ready for publishing. Hence, it may be possible that "Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring" may be released together.

It is also said that since author George R. R. Martin was working on both books, hence the release of "Winds of Winter" is delayed. The last book in the "A Song of Ice & Fire" series was "A Dance with Dragons" and it was released in 2011. Since then, readers and fans of "Game of Thrones" series have been waiting anxiously for the next installment.

To appease the fans, Martin has released a few sample chapters of "Winds of Winter" at subsequent intervals. However, these chapters have only managed to pique the interest of the readers to new levels as they wait anxiously for "Winds of Winter" to hit the shelves.

Martin did reveal in a Question and Answer session at the Guadalajara International Book Fair that the much-anticipated book "Winds of Winter" will contain a lot of deaths, and it will have a sad ending, Entertainment Weekly reported. He also added that he is extremely sad that the book is taking so long to finish.

Meanwhile, the TV adaptation of the book series "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is also delayed. The creators of "Game of Thrones" David Benioff and D.B. Weiss said in a podcast interview that the seventh season of the show is delayed because they have to showcase winter and snow in the series, and so they have to wait for an actual snow on their shooting locations.
