Niantic is secretly planning for a "Pokemon Go" Christmas-themed event . Apparently, several people from The Silph Road have dug deep in the code of the Android version of the game, only to surprisingly discover that an update is happening in the near future.
The team has not only uncovered the event but also some of the newly added gifts. These are tiered in varying colors from Gold to Bronze and then with Great, Ultra, and Special variants, The Silph Read reported.
In the second code, the team cracked a metadata attribute called HasHolidayItems. This is an element that some members of the team think is linked to the first code that disclosed the newly added gifts.
In the third one, a modified shop button was revealed. This suggests that some gears and tools might come with a discount. It could also throw a hint on the presence of limited "Pokémon Go" items. Up to that point, that is the closest guess that the team made since it did not come across another Christmas-themed graphic.
According to BGR, the new disclosure may have just brought the "Pokémon Go" surprise Christmas event into light. Notably, during last Thanksgiving and Halloween holidays, the game hosted its players in a virtual celebration to celebrate the festival. Therefore, it is possible that Christmas will be included in a similar celebration event.
Similarly, in the past few months, Niantic has made some major updates to the game to improve the system and gameplay and analysts presume that more updates are on the way. That being said, speculators suppose that no other feature may have been added to the game from the evidence seen in the code. However, in any case it happens to be the other way round, a compulsory update will happen via v0.51.0.
"Pokémon Go" fans are hereby advised to wait for further announcements from the company concerning the prospected update. Watch the clip below for a hint of the expected gifts:
